Vacanes en France

As Dusty had to go to Seattle for work at the end of August, I decided to visit my Mum in France. I was able to get a good deal for a direct flight to Paris which sealed the deal - only 10.5 hours there and 12.5 hours back - Perfect!
My Mum's house is another 3 hours out of Paris so there are lots of little villages nearby so we went to Loches which has a great market and is a medieval town.
Here is my Mum being picture ready :)

This was a view of the older part of the town

We also cycled to the local Chateau in Grand Preseny which has a new museum showing the local history

I think we just like being silly!

After resting at my Mum's house, swimming and playing croquet - we went to Paris for a couple of days. This was the King's former residence in St. German before Versailles was built.

Looking at the view of Paris from the gardens

We then went to Versailles the next day - it was amazing but the lines were just too long to get inside so we decided to tour the gardens

Our timing was perfect as they had the Fountains on with music playing for the next hour.

So many fountains, so little time....

We didn't make it to this one in time but it was great to look at even still

This was a view of the orange gardens - I just love the symmetry
After that it was back home - a short but sweet holiday :)

I wish my family was from another country and had an excuse to go! That is so awesome. I love Versailles. The outside is way better than the inside anyway. I wished I hadn't wasted time and money to go in when I did. We rented bikes and rode around outside and it was really fun. I'm so glad you got to go!

What an amazing short trip! You'll have to tell me more about it in person sometime. You look great in your new striped sweater!

Thanks Kelli - I'm glad we picked the right one! The bikes sound great - there was so much to see.
Kory - you should text Chuck.
Holly - I had to get in the mood with the French sweater - do you remember buying that with me?

I'm glad you get to visit your family once in a while. Great pictures. So much history! You look so fresh for traveling, I always feel so greasy when I travel.

Amy - I booked it through AirFrance.com and because I went Sunday to Sunday it was a lot cheaper.
Shauna - you should have seen my face break out after I got back - I'm not sure what happened but my skin was not fresh!!
