Dusty and I thought that it would be a great idea to visit Canada as we were going to be so close to the border on our road trip through Montana. We were a little apprehensive as we had a gun in the car for camping and heard that you had to stop and register. The lady we spoke to at the port seemed more than a little worried about this and sent us into the office so that our car could be searched. The customs official asked us every question in the book about our lives and told us to wait while he confirmed the info. So there we were waiting and joking around about the unreal possibility of being denied......well after an uncomfortable 15 minutes he ushered us to the back and told Dusty in no uncertain terms that he would not be allowed into Canada. A little shocked, as we had only just visited their country 6 months prior, we asked why. He explained that Dusty's past court record for accompanying skeleton in his ridiculous shop lifting attempt 4 YEARS EARLIER was considered a felony in Canada and that he wouldn't be allowed back until 2009. Needless to say we were pissed as we had to drive another 3 hours to the nearest hotel and we had already booked one in Canada! It actually turned out to be a good thing as we were then able to stay in Montana longer and have a great time.

Being the child of a now-Canadian, I can honestly say that you didn't miss ANYTHING. Everytime I go up there I feel like a dirty, cheating tramp. I think after being denied you two should have done at least two cookies in the parking lot, and shot off your hunting rifle a time or two to show them what they'd missed. Canadians love that.

That is hilarious! I wouldn't let him in either. I'm sorry, but not when he may or may not even be American. I knew his past would catch up with him.

Well I bet that customs officer was able to sleep sound that night knowing that Canada was safe from the terror of the bear claw!!!!
