Camp Hiking

Last weekend Dusty and I decided to check another item off of our summer list and go camp hiking. I was a little hesitant at first because work had me stressed to the limit but I am so glad we went. Exercise is such a stress reliever and I got to rant and rave about work all the way up. Dusty listened patiently and agreed with me while I let off steam - a sign of a great husband!

Testing out the not so comfortable bed. This is the first time in ages that we haven't had an air mattress to sleep on and my bones were aching by the morning.
We set up a sweet table out of logs to hold our drinks and food.
This is our little camping spot and that is dusty making a fire pit.

I don't know how Dusty got the fire started in such damp conditions but he did it and we had awesome ramen noodles for dinner thanks to his hard work.
Inside out tiny junior tent. It was really cosy!

Was the fire made possible by a large can of lighter fluid?

we love our air mattress! Jerome's dad is a super duty backpacker. They go all over in the summer. For my baby shower he got Story a baby sized zero degree sleeping bag, he's pretty hardcore.

That looks so fun!I might be too big of a woos for it but that's something I'd love to try sometime.

I like Dusty's new (?) look.

I love that last pic of you two. You seem so...earthy. And that's a good thing, btw.

Sorry your job has been working you so hard. :(

You can borrow my air mattress anytime, it's not like it ever gets used. You and Dusty are starting to look like brother and sister. I like Dusty's hair too.

We don't have an air mattress either, part of the reason we haven't gone camping this summer, and the fact that I would need to go out and pee every hour or so. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun, sorry your job was giving you crap. I hate that.

Thanks for everyone's offer of an air mattress. We actually have one but decided it was too heavy to pack up the mountain - I couldn't camp so much without it :)
