We found this little well out in the desert by an old homestead and there were loads of massive tadpoles floating around (they didn't look very healthy).
We passed through Calio, a little tiny town in the middle of the desert and found this great old house and the funniest thing was the mail box!

We followed the old pony express road and found a few crumbled stations, this one was at the top of a massive canyon which was really impressive!

We always seem to have a theme when we go on road trips, not on purpose and this time it was water. We found springs and ponds everywhere. Can you believe there is so much water in the desert!!!!

It was really hard to stay upright by the falls - it was a surprisingly strong current!

We then drove up a really rough road to camp about 90 miles from Wendover and found this abandoned mining cabin. Someone had tried to weather proof it about 10 years ago and then left it to rot. The really interesting thing was that the glass was still intact and must have been about 100 years old.

We went inside and found this cute rat and lots of food in cans that expired in 1992.

The next day we found this warm springs swimming hole - it was bliss after being so dusty and dirty.

Dusty took this photo from a hike he went on while I napped in the jeep.

We then found some incredible salt flats and with the storm rolling in it was really dramatic.

We both tasted some of it and it was the saltiest salt I've ever tasted (if that makes any sense)!

We then found sand dunes and had to get some photos - cheers!

This is the famous truck of the desert - it's been shot so many times it practically in pieces.

Our second camp took us up the rockiest off road trail and I drove up there without hitting the bottom of the car once - I'm pretty proud of my off roading skills. Maybe one day I'll be as good as Dusty!! ;)

This was our fantastic dinner, ramon noodles yum! We forgot to bring a pot so Dusty fashioned this tin foil pot and it worked pretty well, only half of the liquid came out ;)

I think it's great that you guys go camping so much. Anytime we leave the house (even to go to McDonald's) it's just a huge ordeal so we usually don't leave again for a few days :) And that sunset was beautiful!
That picture of bearclaw squatting in the undergrowth is excellent.
I'm never upset or bored with your camping posts. I just can't believe that anyone goes places that much...and hikes, and sleeps outside with bugs...if they don't have to.
I guess it's just like people that "run for fun". Completely mind boggling to me. ;)
looks like fun, you guys always find the funnest places!
dont worry about all the camping posts. mine are all about story, its just how you post. :)
that's so cool that there was a big place to cool off!
I love the salt picture. Christmas card? And... you look great in your bikini. Now about the camping... so many people live in Utah and have never truly seen it. You guys have definitely explored it. And.... I'm sure camping is more fun with vodka!
We'll have to send the salt picture out as a card - great idea Shauna! Also, I really don't think I could camp with out the help of Vodka - how else could you have a comfortable night's sleep ;)
