Happy Birthday James and much more...

James will have his 6th Birthday tomorrow so I wanted to dedicate this post to him - plus I just couldn't resist adding this photo...

We took the boys Geo caching the weekend before last and they loved it. Combining their two favorite things - hiking and finding presents.

Tim's getting serious here....

And of course they found a snake but I had to give them strict instructions not to touch it!

Score!!

Picnic time - the kids were fascinated with their prizes and a near by lizard!

We found 3 geo caches before it started thundering. We were debating whether to leave before finding the 4th and I'm really glad we did. Below is a photo of our journey back in the Hail! Yes that's hail in June!!
Last weekend Dusty and I decided to go hiking in Springville canyon to find a big enough geo cache to hide a travel bug that we found in the last cache. It was so muddy that when we put the car in park with the handbrake on it still slid down the hill....
This is me after the first attempt at finding the cache - soaking wet!

This is the second attempt and it was such a beautiful hike it was well worth getting covered in mud!

Case in point.....
My shoes were so covered in mud that I could hardly lift my legs!

We found the geo cache but it wasn't big enough for the travel bug - we'll just have to keep on looking!

This will be the last post for a while as Dusty and I are traveling back to the UK for my Grandfather's funeral which will be held on his 90th Birthday. He led a wonderful long life and I'll miss him greatly!!

James looks so immensely handicapped in that picture. It's marvelous.

I love that canyon. It's so underused that it makes it quiet and basically abandoned by humans. Which makes me love it all that much more.

i totally don't understand what geo caching is. you'll have to explain.
i seriously can't believe James is 6. Time is 6 to me, and James is 4. That's awesome that you took them to do that though!
I'm sorry about your grandpa.

I didn't know your grandfather past away. I am sorry for your loss. That is nice that you get to go back for the funeral though.

I am sorry to hear about your Grandfather. That's hard.

I don't know what geo caching is either, so yeah but it sounds outdoorsy and adventurous, just like the two of you.

It was good to see you guys the other day, we should get together when you come back, after all we are practically neighbors.

You need to come home. I missed seeing you this month. I hope that James had a happy birthday, and you had a safe trip to and soon, from, England. Hope everything went well, and I'm sending you all my best wishes.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a travel bug?
