Cheese Straws

I was really craving something homemade and yummy today so just before Dusty left for school, I looked up a recipe and threw it together. I was in a rush so they don't look very pretty but they taste great. Here's the recipe if you're feeling in the mood - they only took about 10 minutes to prepare and are great for dipping.

1 cup AP flour
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder (I used about 1/2 tsp)
1/4 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp of red pepper - I also added black pepper and Italian seasoning to taste
1/4 cup butter
3-5 tbsp cold water
1 egg - I didn't have any but I bet it's better with it.

Heat oven to 400
Combine dry ingredients, crumble in butter and cheese until mixture resembles small peas. Sprinkle water in a little at a time, mix with knife until the mixture forms a ball. Roll out on floured surface to 10 inch circle and cut into desired width. Brush with egg or milk (I sprinkled Parmesan cheese on the top for a little extra kick but you don't have to) then twist and lay on well greased baking sheet. Bake for about 10-20 minutes depending on how thick they are and there you go, yummy cheese straws :)

The title sounded really gross.

But the actual product sounds delectable.

Those look yummy for sure, anything with cheese in it is my bestest friend. Too bad if I try to make those I have to eat them all by myself.
